Virgin Atlantic selects Eland Technologies

Eland Technologies, the leading supplier of state-of-the-art software solutions to the travel industry, today announced that after an in-depth review of the leading suppliers in the industry, Virgin Atlantic Airways selected Eland Technologies to supply its Runway product and related services.
The contract provides for an enterprise-wide deployment of this product, which includes significant mainframe legacy integration and consulting services.

The first stage of the project, a redesign of the connectivity to the legacy booking system within the new website, has now gone live and has proven very successful for Virgin Atlantic`s online booking activities.

“By utilising Eland`s technical and business knowledge coupled with our own, a strong relationship has been built which enabled us to successfully implement key components of our web site and underlying e-commerce platform” said Simon Keen, General Manager IT and Business Systems Strategy.

Deploying Eland Technologies` Runway open server as the foundation of their strategic legacy mainframe applications integration brings numerous benefits to Virgin Atlantic Airways. It will provide seamless integration between future applications and their core reservation and departure control systems.

This contract adds three new airlines to the growing number of airlines that are gaining from the benefits of Runway - including United Airlines, Mexicana Airlines, and all 14 airlines of the Star Alliance- making it the biggest selling Travel Application Integration platform in the industry.
