has announced an alliance with Icelandair
. The agreement will make Icelandair`s inventory and Web site available to a wider audience, streamline sales costs and allow the carrier to develop closer relationships with a broader range of online customers.
Winner of the Forbes “Best of the Web” award, SideStep has been recognized by both consumers and the press as the most comprehensive, easy-to-use source for the Web`s best travel deals. Icelandair is the only international carrier to be named to Arthur Frommer`s Budget Traveler “Airline Hall of Fame,” serving the US market since 1952.
“Our partnership with SideStep enables Icelandair to showcase our services, particularly our Internet specials and promotions, to an expanded set of target customers,” said Magnus Stephensen, Icelandair`s Marketing Manager-The Americas. “Besides,” he added, “Iceland is Europe`s hottest destination, and Europe-bound travelers on Icelandair can add Iceland to their itinerary - up to three nights in either direction - at no additional airfare!”
“We`re looking forward to bringing Icelandair`s combination of service and savings to SideStep users,” said Brian Barth, SideStep`s CEO. “Whether our customers are looking for great values to Europe or for an adventurous trip to Iceland itself, Icelandair will serve them well,” noted Barth. “And by taking travelers straight to Icelandair`s Web site, we will help the airline both to reduce distribution costs and forge direct relationships with a valuable set of new travel buyers.”
