The new site enables Aloha to use the Internet as an efficient distribution channel, while taking advantage of the increasing popularity of online travel booking among consumers.
“GetThere was incredibly responsive during the implementation of our new booking engine”, said Shari W. Chang, Aloha`s senior vice president, sales and marketing. “Aloha turned to GetThere to provide us with a system that we can easily maintain and modify to respond to the constantly changing marketplace.”
GetThere DirectAirline allows Aloha to configure the site to offer promotional deals and specials to help reinforce brand loyalty. Its scalable platform is designed to accommodate growth as Aloha`s online booking volume increases.
“While travel overall may be down this year, a higher percentage is being booked online”, said Tony D Astolfo
, vice president of sales at GetThere. “Aloha Airlines is now ready to take advantage of the online market, backed by a powerful platform that already processes millions of bookings per year for many of the world`s leading airlines”.
Aloha Airlines joins a list of air carriers who use GetThere`s Web-based booking technology, including Air New Zealand, Alitalia, All Nippon Airways, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, National Airlines and United Airlines.
