Hilton recieves accolades from the first annual boot awards from thetrip.com

Hilton has been recognized in the 1st Annual Boot Awards, presented by TheTrip.com—a leading Internet travel service for business travelers—as demonstrating the Best Use of the Online Medium in the hotel category and as the Best High-Tech Friendly Hotel. The awards ceremony was held in New York City on October 12.

Road warriors who frequent TheTrip.com voted www.hilton.com the number-one Internet site in the hotel category because of its booking capabilities, ease of navigation and convenience. Hilton also was recognized as best in the high-tech arena as a result of its leading-edge, technology-based business travel services and programs.

Throughout the past year, a number of improvements were made to hilton.com to simplify site navigation, and services were added to make it easier for customers to do business with Hilton. In addition to enabling site visitors to make confirmed reservations, recent enhancements to hilton.com include: A re-designed home page, more detailed hotel content, interactive maps with driving directions for every U.S. city, group reservations, called Hilton Value Dates, and the availability of short-term, reduced rates at select hotels, called Hilton Value Rates.

In terms of high-tech hotel services, select Hilton hotels offer or are implementing: High-speed in-room Internet access, life-size videoconferencing (called Hilton TeleSuite Network), standard videoconferencing, smart card kiosks, in-room fax machines, in-room dual-line phones featuring modem hook-up and voicemail, public Internet stations, 24-hour unattended business center kiosks, and on-site, full-service business centers.
