Hilton Hotels Corporation has received a 1998 Visionary Award from Vision Software in recognition of its innovative utilization of Vision JADE for development of its Intranet site.
Representing one of five total winners, Hilton was selected from a field of 200 customers worldwide that rely on Vision JADE, a Business Logic Server that combines a powerful business rules engine with a robust application server, delivering Java applications 10 times faster than market applications.
Glenn Hellyer, director of corporate systems and Brad Hilton, manager-systems development, accepted the award on behalf of Hilton Hotels Corporation at the awards ceremony on December 1, 1998 in San Jose, Calif.
Hilton was chosen based on its outstanding achievement in Intranet enterprise applications, utilizing Vision JADE to develop a new hotel information database Intranet application that supports its core business operations.

Hilton is in the process of building an extensive Intranet that will enable its properties and corporate office to access and utilize updated data relative to all areas of hotel operations, such as property-specific information and guest services. Additionally, information about major support areas is included in the Intranet system, such as development, human resources, legal, and marketing and sales, among others.
