Harrah`s Entertainment`s The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and other SynXis customers who supply room inventory to America West Vacations, can now easily and efficiently accept their reservations using SynXis Agent`s automated delivery system.
The new interface is the first to eliminate the old cumbersome system of receiving America West Vacations`
reservation manifests and changes via fax, saving hotels from the laborious and costly data entry process.
, a provider of reservation management and distribution systems for the hospitality industry, and America West Vacations, one of the nation`s largest tour packagers to Las Vegas, jointly developed the OTA-Compliant, XML-based interface at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
“SynXis and America West Vacations have both become integral parts of our business model,” said Adrienne Blakeslee Corporate Director, Travel Services for Harrah`s Entertainment. “The first day we turned on the interface we received more than 300 reservations. Previously, this would have taken someone hours to enter the information into our property management system. With this interface, we expect to benefit both in labor savings as well as customer service since the automation eliminates the chance of data entry error. Seldom do I come across such a clear return on investment.”
The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, already an avid user of the SynXis reservation management system for the past two years, provided a rigorous testing environment for the system with a high volume of reservations for its more than 2,500 rooms. Reservations made through America West Vacations` distribution network are delivered in real-time to SynXis Agent via a secure Internet connection. SynXis then automatically downloads these reservations into the hotel`s property management system, significantly reducing manual data entry and labor costs.
“Given the large number of rooms they have to sell, The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and our other Las Vegas hotel customers rely heavily on wholesalers to move a large segment of their inventory,” said Bernard Ellis, SynXis` vice president of global sales and product strategy. “While there remains much more opportunity to automate the relationship between wholesalers and hotels, our first objective was to eliminate the hundreds of faxes our Las Vegas hotels receive every day.”
“We are proud to have served more than five million travelers during our 15 years in business and we want to maintain our competitive edge by making it easier for our partner hotels to do business with us,” said Jack E. Richards, chief executive officer, America West Vacations. “Given that SynXis automates reservations for many of the Las Vegas hotels that supply inventory to America West Vacations, it was a natural partner for us to work with in developing this innovative interface.”
