Galileo Acquires Controlling Interest in Leading Travel Software Solutions Provider

Galileo International, a leading provider of
global distribution solutions for the travel industry, announced today the
acquisition of a controlling interest in TravelWare Group, a major supplier of software solutions to the European
travel trade. 
TravelWare will continue to develop a robust portfolio of
products focussed on process automation and mid-office solutions for travel
management companies, which are Galileo and non-Galileo customers alike.
The transaction is not material to Cendant and terms were not disclosed.

According to Gordon Wilson, executive vice president and managing director
of Galileo`s EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, this acquisition
is part of Galileo`s ongoing strategy to provide an even wider range of
services to the travel industry.  TravelWare will continue to interface and
develop services on a multi-GDS basis.

The provision of travel services to both leisure and corporate consumers has
undergone dramatic change.  This is characterised by the need to integrate
travel content booked via the Web as well as through the global distribution
systems; charging service fees for the purchase of travel products to
replace commissions from travel suppliers; and vastly improved automated
work-flow processes within travel management companies.  With TravelWare,
Galileo now offers a more comprehensive solution to travel management
companies that enables them to address many of these changes in the business
of travel management.

leisure and corporate market segments, particularly in the mid-office system

corporate travel management companies are met.”

Reducing costs for its customers is a key driver for Galileo`s business
development approach.  To this end, TravelWare`s process automation
technology offers immediate benefit and new solutions are scheduled to be
launched later this year that benefit from Galileo`s recently announced Web
Services initiative.  Galileo will also continue to co-operate with other
