Ba.com is now the most popular way for British Airways` UK passengers to book their tickets directly with the airline. Monday 1 July 2002 was the busiest day ever for the BA.com

Simon Parks-Smith, head of E-commerce at British Airways, said: “The high growth of customers using ba.com
to book directly with British Airways is resulting from a combination of major changes to the way we sell our tickets.

“Our new shorthaul fares are very attractive and competitive and the introduction of service fees for bookings made through offline channels means that customers are able to the get the cheapest fares by booking online.

“Customers have been further encouraged to make their bookings online by the introduction of Fare Explorer, our new, easy to use online booking engine.

“Ba.com is now the most popular way for people to contact British Airways. Up to one million people now visit ba.com every week - more than the number of people flying with us each week.”
