U.K. seat-only specialist Golden Caribbean, formerly part of the Thomas Cook group, is to become the latest operator to sign up to the X-TANT reservation network, providing travel agents with instant access to bookable charter seats to Barbados, Tobago and Grenada.

, a division of NTL Business, is behind the travel industry`s leading reservations network and has become one of the sector`s fastest-growing solutions pioneers through its integrated agency selling system Traveleye.

Golden Caribbean specialises in selling and marketing seats to the eastern Caribbean, distributing to tour operators, travel agents and consumers and the distribution deal with X-TANT aims to speed up the booking service Golden Caribbean offers the travel trade. Agents can now make bookings through the browser-based Traveleye system or across X-TANT`s viewdata network.

“Our relationship with X-TANT makes it easier for travel agents who already deal with us to check availability and book seats,” said Martin Cooper, managing director of Golden Caribbean. It also helps improve our efficiency by lightening the load on our telephones.”

Golden Caribbean offers twice-weekly, year-round, charter flights between London Gatwick and Tobago and Grenada in a two-class service using A330-200 aircraft provided by Monarch Airlines. From July, Golden Caribbean will add Barbados to its portfolio.

X-TANT handles 65% of all leisure bookings made electronically by agents, totalling £3.6bn worth of holidays, with more than 100 leading travel providers linked to the network.
