Worldspan Names Howard Kress VP, Consumer E-Commerce

 
Worldspan
, the leading global
distribution system and e-commerce provider for the travel industry, has
announced the appointment of Howard Kress to the newly created position of
vice president-Consumer E-Commerce within the Company`s Worldwide Travel
Distribution group.
 
In this new position, Kress will oversee all aspects of sales and
marketing for Worldspan`s consumer e-commerce initiatives.  Based in Atlanta,
Kress will report to Mike Parks, senior vice president and general manager-
Worldwide Travel Distribution for Worldspan.
 
“Howard`s unique understanding of the e-commerce travel environment, as
well as his comprehensive knowledge of distribution strategies, make him the
ideal person to lead Worldspan`s efforts,” commented Parks.  “His combination
of experiences will be instrumental in serving our current consumer e-commerce
customers, and in establishing strategies for future market development.”
 
Parks added, “Our e-commerce team has worked hard to achieve our
significant online leadership position, and we are proud of the results.  Now
it is time to invest even more in the important consumer e-commerce sector.
We will maintain our leadership position, and grow the business aggressively
as more opportunities are created.”
 
Kress has more than twenty years of travel industry experience, including
executive positions at both traditional and e-commerce travel distribution
companies, and extensive skills in technology and customer service
disciplines.
 
Kress joins Worldspan from Atinera Americas, where he served as Vice
President of Sales.  In that role, he had responsibility for sales and
business development programs.  Previously Kress held positions with Whiplash,
Inc., SatoTravel, and Galileo International.
 
Kress earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate
School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
