South African Airlines to bid for stake in Air Tanzania

Business Day has reported that South Africaå‘s national carrier is to bid for the 49% stake in Air Tanzania. The airline has stated that the move is part of its strategy to expand its services further into the African continent.

All bids for the 49% stake had to be in by July 31 and SAA has undertaken a due diligence exercise and is awaiting the results. The CEO stated that the extension would enable SAA to support the objectives of Nepad.
