Opodo, a leading pan-European online travel
service, backed by nine of Europe`s leading airlines,  yesterday launched
its French site - www.opodo.fr



The site is the third to be launched, following Germany and the UK, where
Opodo has already been extremely successful.  In its` first four months of
operation, www.opodo.de received nearly 4 million visitors.  It was ranked
the number one flight-website in Germany and overall the number two travel
site, rating just behind the Deutsche Bahn site (National Railway)*.

Just two months after its launch in January this year, www.opodo.co.uk had
already received 2.1 million visitors and ratings show that it was the third
most trafficked multi category travel site in the UK according to figures
released by Nielsen Netratings.
Opodo CEO Giovanni Bisignani, comments “We have been delighted with our
success so far in Germany and the UK and are looking forward to replicating
it in France.  We feel this is a key time to be launching throughout Europe
as online travel is set to explode within the next 5 years, increasing from
4.5 billion euros to 38.7 billion euros.”
