Sandals at the CHA Marketplace

I caught up with Dwight Johnson, Diector of Marketing for
Sandals at the CHA Marketplace


When questioned about the effects of the 11th of September, Dwight revealed that it did have a dramatic impact for Sandals and Beaches resorts. However they are still going strong. He commented that “since January the 2nd, the gates seem to be opening again.” He added, ?gI hope the momentum keeps up?h.


With traditional online marketing www.sandals.com which links to www.beaches.com , caters for booking and reservations online and is aimed not for consumers, but for travel agencies and tour operators. Dwight commented that there are plans for online expansion in the coming year.


The main news from Sandals is the launch of an all inclusive Beaches resort, Beaches Boscobel, which will be opening on June 1st, 2002. It will be located 10 miles east of the town Ocho Rios and only minutes away from the Boscobel aerodrome with Air Jamaica Express service to Montego Bay.

This resort will have 230 rooms and suites, 3 pools and 3 jacuzzis and also boasts a wide range of restaurants, 24 hour food service and 7 bars, including a beach bar and a swim up bar, a variety of kids facilities, an amazing choice of sports and watersports and a gift shop.
