“Daylight`s Advanced Sales and Catering? system won this honor because it was one of an impressive array of solutions that provide the tools for retail and hospitality companies to create higher levels of customer service in all parts of the enterprise,` said Tom Litchford, director of marketing, retail and hospitality at Microsoft Corp. “This technology has shown itself to be an effective tool for Daylight clients that have embraced this versatile software.”

This is Daylight Software`s second R.A.D. Award, having also won in 1998. The company`s software application at that time automated the communication process between hotels and meeting planners.

Daylight`s use of an XML-based Application Programming Interface allows hotel sales operations to exchange data with other important information-technology systems. Powerful new interfaces to property-management systems, for example, allow salespeople to get all revenue and other data back to the sales operation for complete reporting. Interfaces to the hotels` revenue-management systems allow each a lead or inquiry to be analyzed quickly through sophisticated property-wide yield models. This provides the guidelines needed to determine whether to book the business and at which property and for what price.

“Daylight integrates well with the rest of a hotel company`s technology to enable them to reach the customer with the highest level of service and manage its internal operations seamlessly,” said Vice President of product management at Daylight Software Debbie Johnson.

Daylight is a privately held company headquartered in Dover, NH, with sales offices in New Hampshire and Arizona. Daylight customers include The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, The Mirage, Bellagio, Sonesta Hotels Resorts & Nile Cruises, Gaylord Hotels, and Orient-Express Hotels to list a few.
