America West Resumes Phoenix Service

America West Airlines announced today that it will initiate the only
daily, nonstop year-round service between Phoenix and Anchorage, Alaska on
June 1, 2004. The service is part of America West`s 2004 growth plan to
meet increased customer demand for the airline`s extremely successful
business-friendly fare structure and outstanding service.

“Whether customers in Anchorage are heading south to enjoy sunny Phoenix
in the winter or Phoenicians are escaping to Anchorage`s cool summers-one
thing is for certain-customers will benefit from America West`s low fares
and full host of services,” said Dion Flannery, vice president,
scheduling, route planning and Internet distribution. “Additionally,
customers can connect through the airline`s Phoenix hub to and from
another 57 America West destinations across the U.S. as well as in Mexico
and Costa Rica.”
America West will use the 124-seat Airbus A319 aircraft configured with 12
first class seats and 112 coach class seats for this new service.
America West Airlines is the nation`s second largest low-fare airline and
the only carrier formed since deregulation to achieve major airline
status. America West`s 13,000 employees serve nearly 55,000 customers a
day in 93 destinations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica.
