New York to Phoenix For as Little as $79

American Airlines is celebrating the launch of its new New York
JFK-Phoenix nonstop service Jan. 31 with fares as low as $79 each way
based on round-trip purchase and the chance to earn double AAdvantage(R)
miles for a limited time.

“What better way to help our customers celebrate our new flights to the
West than with great introductory fares—and AAdvantage miles—on the
airline that more New Yorkers fly to the West,” said Tom Gleason, regional
vice president - Sales. American`s two daily flights to Phoenix will leave
JFK at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., returning to JFK at 12:30 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. on
Boeing 757 aircraft.

American`s low introductory fare is available for sale through Feb. 10 for
travel beginning Jan. 31. Travel must be completed by April 14. Some
restrictions apply. See terms and conditions below.

And, that`s not all. AAdvantage members can earn double miles each time
they fly our new nonstop service between New York JFK and Phoenix from
Jan. 31 through April 30, 2004. To qualify, members must register prior to
travel by calling our AAdvantage Dial-In(R) system at 1-800-882-8880,
follow the prompts and enter promotion code NYPHX when asked. Or, register
online at http://www.aa.com/offers .

The JFK-Phoenix flights are just part of new or additional service slated
for JFK this winter. On Jan. 31, American adds a 10th daily flight from
JFK to Los Angeles, leaving JFK at 5 p.m. on a Boeing 767 aircraft
offering three- class service to the West Coast.

Last month, American launched seasonal nonstop service from JFK to San
Jose, Costa Rica; from JFK to Caracas, Venezuela, and weekend nonstop
flights to La Romana in the Dominican Republic and to Grand Cayman.

American also will begin new daily nonstop service from JFK to Brussels
beginning in May. Through connections on American`s codeshare partner, SN
Brussels, passengers will be able to travel beyond Belgium to destinations
throughout Europe and into Africa as well.

“Clearly, American and American Eagle offer more to New Yorkers—more
flights to more destinations from New York than any other airline,”
Gleason said. American operates 84 daily departures from JFK, 130 from
LaGuardia and 43 daily flights from Newark.

Besides spacious First-and Coach-Class cabins and an extensive route
network, customers on American will also find great low fares, the
opportunity to earn and redeem AAdvantage frequent flier miles, and
exceptional service both on the ground and in the air, all of which
combine to make travel on American an exceptional value.

American Airlines is the world`s largest carrier. American, American Eagle
and the AmericanConnection(R) regional carriers serve nearly 250 cities in
40 countries and territories with approximately 43,900 daily flights. The
combined network fleet numbers more than 1,000 aircraft. American`s award-
winning Web site, AA.com, provides users with easy access to check and
