747-400 and A340-600 service from Los Angeles to Hong Kong, daily non-stop
747-400 service from San Francisco to Hong Kong, daily direct 747-400
service from New York to Hong Kong and daily non-stop 747-400 service from
New York to Vancouver onboard one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the
world.
Monkey Business: In celebration of Chinese New Year, First and Business
Class Cathay Pacific passengers traveling January 22, 23 and 24 from Los
Angeles and San Francisco to Hong Kong will be offered two festive snacks
—Rice Pudding and Turnip Pudding. To help ensure the Year of the Monkey
will be both lucky and prosperous, the airline will also offer passengers
decorative boxes containing seasonal treats. First and Business Class
passengers will be presented with a gift box containing Deep Fried
Dumplings, Deep Fried Sesame Balls and Honey Coated Walnuts. In Economy
Class, the box contains the Deep Fried Dumplings—also referred to as

Freighter Fleet Expansion: Cathay Pacific plans to add up to 13 aircraft
to its freighter fleet. The airline will use the expanded fleet to
strengthen Hong Kong`s position as an international air cargo hub, as well
as launching new freighter services to North America, Beijing and Munich.
Flights are subject to government approval. Cathay Pacific currently
operates a fleet of five Boeing 747-400F and six Boeing 747-200F freighter
aircraft and is the world`s sixth-largest air cargo carrier in terms of
tonnage carried.
Change for Good: Cathay Pacific has already raised over USD$256,000 in the
first four months of its Change for Good inflight fundraising program. The
proceeds, from passenger donations of spare change from leftover
currencies of their trip, collected between August 15 and December 14,
will help support UNICEF and its relief work for underprivileged children
worldwide.
Appreciation Offer: Cathay Pacific recently introduced its “Appreciation
Offer” whereby travelers can earn up to 10,000 AAdvantage bonus miles.
Passengers flying on the airline from North America to Hong Kong or beyond
on a qualifying First or Business Class roundtrip ticket between February
1, 2004 and May 31, 2004, inclusive, can earn 10,000 AAdvantage bonus
miles. Qualifying First or Business Class one-way tickets earn 4,000
AAdvantage bonus miles. There is no limit to the number of bonuses earned
