One of the major players in Middle Eastern aviation, Kuwait Airways , has become the latest airline to sign up with Mercator, the Emirates Group IT division.
The carrier has selected two of Mercator’s most well-tried airline solutions—its twin reservations and check-in systems MARS and MACS.
MARS, Mercator’s Airline Reservation System, will upgrade Kuwait Airways’ customer service significantly and cut reservations costs. It also provides booking management, schedule and seat inventory control, fare formulation and ticketing.
In addition, Kuwait Airways has chosen Mercator’s MACS Airport Control System, to check in passengers swiftly and efficiently, manage pre-take-off baggage handling and streamline its whole range of airport procedures, improving productivity.
Customers will be able to make their reservations right up to the moment their flight closes, and choose their seats when they book.

The Automated Systems Company (ASC), a Kuwaiti IT company, acted as Mercator’s marketing partner, facilitating the business relationship with Kuwait Airways and providing valuable local expertise.
Kuwait Airways’ scheduled passenger and cargo services have been in operation for almost 50 years. Today the airline flies to 40-plus cities in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and America, and more than 2.3 million people travelled with it last year.
