United Airlines Extends Mileage Plus

United Airlines (BULLETIN BOARD: UALAQ) today announced that it will
extend the availability of Mileage Plus Transfer Miles(SM), an initiative
that allows Mileage Plus members to transfer existing miles into another
Mileage Plus member`s account. Transfer Miles is available immediately,
exclusively at united.com/transfermiles , and now runs through March 31,
2004. United also announced that the ability to purchase up to 25,000
miles, enough for a domestic Saver Award, has been extended through March
31, 2004.
“We are thrilled to offer our customers a special benefit at the start of
the New Year by extending Mileage Plus Transfer Miles and Mileage Plus
Purchase Miles tests for a limited time,” said Robert Sahadevan, Senior
Vice President, UAL Loyalty Services. “These initiatives were created in
response to customer requests and are truly innovative programs which
allow our members to share travel with friends and family. Thousands of
members have already taken advantage of this opportunity to purchase or
transfer miles to reach travel awards quicker.”

Members can transfer miles to up to three different Mileage Plus accounts
at one time for a fee. The fee structure is $0.01 per mile plus tax and a
$25 processing fee. Miles may be transferred in 1,000 mile increments with
a minimum transaction of 5,000 miles. Members may transfer a maximum of
15,000 miles to a single Mileage Plus member and up to a total of 60,000
miles from a single account. Miles will be posted to the receiving account

Members can purchase up to 25,000 miles per calendar year for their own
account or as a gift to a friend or family member. The fee structure
entails a $25 processing fee plus $0.0275 per mile plus tax for
transactions of 5,000 miles and under or $0.0250 per mile plus tax for
transactions over 5,000 miles. Miles will be posted to the receiving
