Delta SkyWish Partners Fund for UNICEF

Delta Air Lines has designated the United States Fund for UNICEF (United
Nations Children`s Fund) as the SkyWish Charity of the Quarter. SkyMiles
members can contribute miles to aid the U.S. Fund for UNICEF`s efforts to
provide health, education, equality and protection to every child across
the globe.

“As a global company, Delta is pleased to partner with SkyMiles members to
assist UNICEF and the worthwhile services it offers to children
worldwide,” said Rob Borden, Delta`s SkyMiles program director. “The miles
donated will enhance the lives of children, one of the SkyWish program`s
primary goals, and Delta is pleased to team with UNICEF to accomplish this
mission.”

The mission of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF is to promote the survival,
protection and development of all children worldwide through fundraising,
advocacy and education. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is one of 37 national
committees set up around the world to raise money for UNICEF, which works
in 158 countries and territories providing health care, clean water,
improved nutrition, and education to millions of children in Africa, Asia,
Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Key
priority areas for the organization include girls` education, immunization
against preventable diseases such as measles, tetanus and polio and the
prevention of HIV/AIDS.
One of the most devastating aspects of the HIV/AIDS epidemic is the
growing proportion of children the disease has orphaned. Worldwide, 14
million children under the age of 15 have lost one or both parents to the
disease, and this number is expected to exceed 25 million by 2010. UNICEF
helps to ensure that communities maintain regular contact with orphaned
children to make sure that they have adequate nutrition, are in school and
are safe from exploitation and abuse.

“We are very appreciative of Delta Air Lines` support and commitment to
children around the world,” said Charles J. Lyons, president of the U.S.
Fund for UNICEF. “Mileage contributions from SkyMiles members will help
UNICEF support the millions of children who have lost one or both parents
to HIV/AIDS.”
SkyMiles members may donate miles to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF via SkyWish
until March 31, 2004. There is a 5,000-mile minimum donation, and Delta
will boost each donation by adding 1,000 miles for every 5,000 miles
contributed.

Donations can be made via e-mail at [email protected], by calling
1-800-325-3999 or via FAX at 404-773-1945. SkyMiles members should include
their SkyMiles account number, the amount of miles to be donated and note
that the U.S. Fund for UNICEF is the charity that their miles will
benefit. SkyWish donations are not tax deductible for Delta Air Lines or
SkyMiles members.
