America West Announces New Service

America West Airlines announced today that it is adding roundtrip flights
between Las Vegas and six new cities on March 1, 2004. The airline will
provide daily non-stop service between Las Vegas and following cities:
Austin, Texas; Cleveland, Ohio; Edmonton, Canada; El Paso, Texas; San
Antonio, Texas; and Vancouver, Canada. These flights, along with
previously announced service starting Jan. 7, 2004 between Las Vegas and
nine existing West Coast markets, are part of America West`s 2004 growth
plan.

“Flights between our Phoenix hub and these six markets have performed
exceptionally well, and we are pleased to now offer customers non-stop
service to our second hub in Las Vegas which is one the most popular
destinations in the world,” said Dion Flannery, vice president,
scheduling, route planning and Internet distribution. “America West`s
strong bookings clearly indicate customers are seeking out America West`s
low fares and full range of services not found on most low cost carriers,
such as first-class seating, advance seat assignments and our
award-winning frequent flyer program, FlightFund.”

With the new flights, America West will offer 107 daily departures to 47
destinations from its Las Vegas hub.
America West`s Las Vegas night flight system is operated during hours when
the aircraft fleet would normally be idle, thereby increasing aircraft
utilization hours and lowering unit costs. America West is also increasing
flights between Las Vegas and several existing markets. The airline is
adding one daily roundtrip flight between Las Vegas and Dallas/Fort Worth
as well as increasing service from three weekly roundtrip flights to one
daily roundtrip flight between Las Vegas and Colorado Springs, Colo.;
Eugene, Ore.; Minneapolis; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Spokane, Wash.; Toronto;
and Washington/Dulles.

Founded in 1983 and proudly celebrating its 20-year anniversary in 2003,
America West Airlines is the nation`s second largest low-fare airline and
the only carrier formed since deregulation to achieve major airline
status. America West`s 13,000 employees serve nearly 55,000 customers a
day in 93 destinations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica. America West Airlines editorial, based on news release distributed by PR Newswire.
