American Launches New Latin American Service

15th Dec 2003

American Airlines continues to add travel options for New York customers
this winter. The world`s largest airline launches seasonal nonstop service
from John F. Kennedy International Airport to San Jose, Costa Rica, today.
On Friday, American begins nonstop flights to Caracas, Venezuela, and on
Saturday it adds nonstop flights to La Romana in the Dominican Republic as
well as to Grand Cayman.
“As American strives to be New Yorkers` airline of choice, we`re working
to provide customers with the services they value,” said Tom Gleason,
American`s regional vice president-Eastern Division. “As winter settles
into the northeast, people want to head south toward warmer weather. Even
though we offer more flights to the Caribbean and Latin America than any
other airline, we`re going one step further by reducing the need to change
planes to get to some of our most popular destinations.”

American will operate the new seasonal nonstop service to San Jose, Costa
Rica, on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The flight will
feature a Boeing 757 aircraft with seating for 22 Business-Class and 154
Coach-Class passengers.
On Dec. 19, American`s nonstop service to Caracas, Venezuela, begins. The
service will operate southbound on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and
northbound on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Flights will be flown with a
Boeing 757 aircraft with 22 Business-Class and 154 Coach-Class seats.

Saturday, Dec. 20, brings the launch of seasonal nonstop flights to La
Romana in the Dominican Republic and to Grand Cayman. Both flights will
operate on Saturdays only and will be flown using Boeing 757 aircraft.

American continues to provide a wide choice of domestic and international
destinations from New York. Last week, the carrier announced new daily
nonstop service from JFK to Brussels beginning in May. Through connections
on American`s codeshare partner, SN Brussels, passengers will be able to
travel beyond Belgium throughout Europe and into Africa as well.
