Cathay Pacific Wins on Crisis Management

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced it won awards for crisis management and investor relations at the IR Magazine Asia Awards 2003.
The airline took home the Grand Prix for Best Overall Investor Relations as well as the award for Best Crisis Management at the magazine’s annual ceremony on Thursday night in Shanghai, attended by more than 250 CEOs, CFOs and investor relations professionals from around the region.
The winners of the IR Magazine Asia Awards 2003 were identified by an independent survey, conducted by Taylor Nelson Sofres, of 600 portfolio managers and analysts from China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore and four other Asian markets.

As well as choosing award winners, the survey identifies best practices in investor relations, assesses investment community needs and tracks industry trends in the region. Winners from across Asia were presented with awards in 15 categories as well as eleven regional awards. IR magazine has hosted annual awards ceremonies in the US, the UK, Continental Europe and Canada since 1991.
The airline has recently won a number of awards for its crisis management and leadership during the SARS crisis, including the TTG Honours 2003 this month.

Cathay Pacific General Manager Corporate Communication Alan Wong said: “We are delighted to receive such high praise from the region’s professional analysts and money managers. The awards reflect our commitment to excellence in all areas of our operation. Congratulations and thanks are due every member of our staff whose hard work made these awards possible.”
