Delta Air Lines said today that customers purchased more than 600,000
tickets at its delta.com Web site in September, surpassing August as the
best month ever since the airline began offering online purchasing in
December 1996. Revenue from September`s ticket sales from delta.com
exceeded $160 million.
“September`s record-breaking volume on delta.com continues to illustrate
how Delta`s customers are embracing doing business online,” said Steve
Scheper, Delta`s managing director for Online Sales and Service. “Delta is
dedicated to making online purchasing easier for our customers while
continuing to decrease our overall distribution costs.”

September`s record-breaking numbers include:
- A 33 percent increase in bookings over the same month last year with a 22 percent increase in online revenue for the same period.
  - Online check-ins at delta.com increased 235 percent over the same month
last year.  August 2003 showed an increase of 454 percent year over
year.

Through the end of 2003, Delta SkyMiles members continue to enjoy 1,000
bonus miles each time they purchase a roundtrip ticket on delta.com, check
in online or redeem a SkyMiles award ticket through the site.

Delta.com places customers in control with services and information that
increase convenience and efficiency in their travel experience. At the
site, customers can choose a seat or change a seat assignment, check
flight arrival/departure status, download the latest schedule to their PCs
or PDAs, and sign up to receive flight status notifications via e-mail or
mobile device. SkyMiles members can also check in, print boarding passes,
manage their SkyMiles accounts, receive their statements online and redeem
frequent flier miles. Confirmation and waitlist of upgrades also are
available online to Medallion members.
