The international site of flysaa.com has added Africa to now also bring an internet booking facility to the continent.
Within hours of the African site opening on October 1, South African Airways (SAA) has already received several bookings.
“This is a magnificent initiative to further strengthen our presence on the continent. As the leader in Africa and the airline who is constantly awarded as the Best in Africa, we bring our customers this added facility,” says Gcobani Mancotywa, SAA Regional General Manager for Africa and the Middle East.
This exciting development sees Africa and the Middle East joining other countries like the United Kingdom, United States and the European Union in the international reach of SAA`s website, flysaa.com.
Busy travellers can access this site to make their bookings online from the following African and Middle Eastern countries: Botswana, Ghana, Israel, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Passengers can make their own bookings from any of these countries to South Africa, as well as to any other place in the world to where SAA flies.
They can also check their Voyager status and mileage summary and view flight schedules. Flysaa.com`s graphical seat maps allow the customer to view the interior plan of the aeroplane used on the route they have chosen, and to book their exact seat online. Customers with special meal preferences can reserve these as well.
Payment can be made at their closest SAA office, says Amanda Sebolai, Senior Manager International Product for SAA`s E-Commerce division.
Flysaa.com, a direct sales channel of SAA, has grown tremendously since inception in March 2001 and grows continuously at a remarkably rate. The international site has grown on average with 80% over the last six months.
“For a good deal, flysaa.com is the way to book your airline ticket. A booking engine created for your convenience, available 24 hours a day, from the comfort of your desktop.
“Our focus remains that of the convenience of our customer and ensuring that their flying experience, from booking to arriving safely at their destination remains a pleasant one.”
* To confirm its position as number one in Africa, South African Airways has won the following awards since January: Best African Airline, Best Domestic Airline, Best International Airline flying to South Africa ( ASATA Diners Club), Best Airline in Africa, Best Cabin Crew in Africa ( SKYTRAX) and Best Airline based in Africa by the Official Airline Guide (OAG).
