The 7th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) Exhibition being held in Langkawi from 30 September - 5 October 2003 will see Malaysia Airlines, like other government agencies and aviation/maritime related organisations, involved in providing key support towards the success of this international event.
As official airline, Malaysia Airlines has commenced flying in participants to Langkawi. To meet the increased demand for air travel to Langkawi during LIMA 2003, Malaysia Airlines has mounted 27 additional flights for the period 26 September 2003 till 6 October 2003 offering an extra capacity of 4754 seats.
At the Langkawi Mashuri International Exhibition Centre Hall B, Malaysia Airlines is occupying a 100 square meter strategic booth to showcase its corporate presence, destinations, products and services, as well as provide reservations and ticketing facilities for participants.
On 1 October 2003, MASkargo, the Cargo division of Malaysia Airlines, will showcase its upgraded on-line freight tracking system at this booth to its Priority Business Centre clients and trade visitors.
The next day Malaysia Airlines` Engineering Maintenance will be formalizing at least six agreements to provide aircraft heavy maintenance and training to local and foreign business partners. This represents the airline`s contribution in prospecting business opportunities towards increasing national, regional and global competitiveness of the country`s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) sector as envisioned in the objectives of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT).
Todate, Malaysia Airlines has deployed around 120 staff at Langkawi to ensure the success of its participation in LIMA 2003.
Malaysia Airlines has been an active participant in LIMA since the inauguration of this event in 1991 and has been its official air carrier from the maiden event till todate.
