America West Fare Sale to Costa Rica And Mexico

America West (NYSE: AWA) announced today a fare sale to all 13 of its Latin American markets to celebrate new service to three cities in the region this year. America West started service to Cancun, Mexico, on June 1 and will begin service to Monterrey, Mexico, on Oct. 20 and San Jose, Costa Rica, on Dec. 1, subject to government approval.
In addition to Cancun and Monterrey, America West serves the following Mexico markets: Acapulco, Guadalajara, Guaymas/San Carlos, Hermosillo, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Los Cabos, Manzanillo, Mazatlan, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta.
Specially reduced fares, starting from $99 each way based on a roundtrip purchase, are available now through Sept. 23 for sale at americawest.com, Orbitz.com or by calling America West reservations at 1-800-2-FLY-AWA (1-800-235-9292). Customers may travel from Sept. 23 through Jan. 31, 2003. A seven-day advance purchase and one-night stay are required. The maximum stay is 30 days. The blackout dates are Nov. 22, Nov. 26, Nov. 29 - 30, Dec. 1, Dec. 20 - 22, Dec. 26 - 29 in 2003 and Jan. 2 - 4 in 2004. Customers who take advantage of these special deals will also receive 500 FlightFund bonus miles for every roundtrip ticket purchased at americawest.com .
America West serves Cancun and will serve San Jose with the Airbus A319 aircraft which features seating for 12 in first class and 112 in the main cabin. America West Express, which is operated by Mesa Airlines, will provide service in Monterrey using the 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet.
