Austrian Airlines Group Prepared for Expansion of EU Eastwards
Against the background of the impending expansion of the European Union, the Austrian Airlines Group is preparing to build up its scheduled services to Central Europe. Additional new flights are to be introduced to the bustling cities of Budapest and Kosice with immediate effect.
The three Vienna-Budapest-Vienna services a day will be complemented by one extra flight a day, offering a new total of four daily connections to and from the Hungarian capital.
Frequencies to the Eastern Slovakian commercial centre of Kosice will double from five to ten flights a week. A new evening service will be introduced from 8 September 2003. This will open up a wide range of services from and to Western Europe and in intercontinental traffic, both for local traffic and for transit services passing through the Vienna hub.
With its new frequencies to Budapest and Kosice, and its scheduled connections to a total of 34 cities in Central and Eastern Europe, the Austrian Airlines Group now offers a total of 360 flights to this booming new economic region every single week.
