British Airways is advising all passengers who have a flight booked for today is to check-in as normal. The airline is hoping to operate close to a full schedule of flights today. Terminal 1 is extremely busy at the moment.

To avoid congestion at Terminal 4, flights will not be open for check-in more than three hours before departure and passengers will only be allowed into the terminal on a flight by flight basis to avoid congestion.

The airline asks that passengers do not turn up any earlier than this for flights as they will only be held outside the terminal building.

Passengers who do not hold a reservation for a flight today are urged to call the special helpline 0800 727 800 or 0870 850 9850 to re-book their ticket.

British Airways is sincerely sorry for all the disruption and we have teams of volunteer staff working around the clock to try and get our services back to normal as quickly as possible.

There is still a large backlog of more than 1,000 passengers from services cancelled over the weekend. We are doing everything we can to get these passengers away in the next couple of days.

As of 8am on Monday July 21 there are no significant delays in the terminals.
