Lufthansa Up-to-Date with Euronews

From now on passengers on Lufthansa flights will be able to stay even more up-to-date with the latest news from around the world. From 1 July, the inflight programme on long-haul routes will include news bulletins with a European angle produced by the European all-news television channel, Euronews. Through the partnership with the station, which was launched by a consortium of 19 public service broadcasters, Lufthansa will be able to keep its passengers abreast of the latest news, as the 30-minute video magazine will now be compiled at 6 am. For technical reasons the previous editorial deadline was 3 am. The second inflight bulletin will include up-to-the minute Euronews news at 2 pm Central European Time (CET).

The video magazine will be broadcast in German and English. Besides a summary of world news, the latest financial information and the stock market indices, each programme will have a special focus on a European topic. There will also be sports news, with short reports on the most important events and the league tables for individual European countries. The inflight programme is composed of items fed from the regular programme of the Euronews TV channel, which is based in Lyon. Lufthansa offers prime advertising slots for industry right before the start of the news magazine and within two commercial blocks.
