Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) is offering new business fares which discount full walk-up coach fares in Salt Lake City by up to 40 percent and allows customers to experience first class for as little as $50 more than the reduced coach walk-up fare.
“Our Salt Lake City customers have asked for lower fares with fewer restrictions, and for fares which offer the opportunity to travel in first class at affordable prices. In response, we’re introducing flexible coach and first class walk-up fares at significantly reduced prices,” said Paulette Corbin, Delta’s vice president of Airport Customer Service-West Region, during an event in Salt Lake City today.
In addition to their low cost, the new discounted business fares do not require an advance purchase and are refundable, allowing customers more flexibility when making their travel plans.
As an added bonus, SkyMiles members also receive double qualification points towards their medallion status and a 50 percent class-of-service bonus when purchasing the first class walk-up fare.
“For as little as $50 more than the reduced coach walk-up fare, customers can sit in first class, earn more miles and qualify for Medallion status faster,” says Harlan Bennett, Delta’s vice president of Revenue Management.Ê They can then use their miles to travel to more than 440 worldwide destinations on Delta and our partners.”
