Launch of `Showcase Malaysia VI`

Jun 2003 - Under the tagline, “Free 4 days / 3 nights in Malaysia”, Malaysia Airlines` `Showcase Malaysia` took off for the sixth time, following the resounding success of the previous five campaigns.


Showcase Malaysia VI, valid from 01 June 2003 to 31 October 2003, was officially launched today by Yang Berhormat Dato` Paduka Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir, Minister of Culture, Arts & Tourism in a leading hotel in Kuala Lumpur.


Through this campaign Malaysia Airlines is offering any two passengers travelling together into and via Malaysia during the promotional period, a complimentary stay of 4 days/3 nights on a twin-share basis inclusive of daily breakfast. However, this package does not apply to passengers who travel from Malaysia and Singapore.


Depending on the class of travel, passengers are eligible to choose from over 70 resorts and hotels, ranging from 3-star to exclusive 5-star status, spread across 14 destinations throughout Malaysia.


The campaign also offers affordable options of 40 sightseeing tours at 13 Malaysian destinations and car rental facilities in Peninsular Malaysia, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

With the encouraging performance of the previous Showcase Malaysia campaigns, Malaysia Airlines is confident that Showcase Malaysia VI will meet the target of 20,000 arrivals into Malaysia.


“Showcase Malaysia”, is a global tactical campaign designed by Malaysia Airlines to promote inbound tourism into Malaysia. This campaign further enhances Malaysia`s position as a preferred value for money holiday destination in this region.


It was first introduced in 1998 by Malaysia Airlines to stimulate Malaysian tourism industry in line with the National Economic Action Council (MTEN) recommendation to generate foreign earnings through tourism.
