ARLINGTON, Va., June 10, 2003—US Airways Express has begun daily nonstop regional jet service between Huntsville, Ala., and New York’s LaGuardia airport. The new service, which began June 8, is operated by US Airways Express carrier Chautauqua Airlines, using Embraer-145 Regional Jets.
The new daily flight departs New York at 2:05 p.m., and arrives in Huntsville at 3:38 p.m. The return flight departs Huntsville at 4:10 p.m., and arrives in New York at 7:25 p.m.
“Huntsville marks the sixth city in the mid-Atlantic region that we have connected to New York with regional jet service this year alone,” said Andrew P. Nocella, US Airways vice president of planning and scheduling. “We are pleased to bring this important business route to our customers in the Huntsville-Decatur area.”
US Airways also operates five daily flights to its Charlotte, N.C., hub and three daily flights to Washington National airport from Huntsville.
Passengers flying on US Airways Express’ Embraer-145 Regional Jet flights travel comfortably in a quiet, roomy cabin equipped with leather seats where every seat is on either an aisle or a window. The Embraer-145 offers stand-up headroom, reclining seatbacks, large overhead storage bins, and a restroom. Flight attendant service is provided on every flight.
These regional jets have a cruising speed of over 500 miles per hour with a range of more than 1,000miles, and can cruise at altitudes above 35,000 feet, providing US Airways Express long-range regional jet capability.
The US Airways Express wholly owned subsidiaries and affiliate carriers currently operate more than 2,000 flights daily, serving 149 destinations in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. For additional information on fares and schedules, visit US Airways online at usairways.com.
