New Service from US Airways Express

US Airways Express will begin daily nonstop roundtrip regional jet service between Montreal, Quebec, and Charlotte, N.C., on June 8, 2003.

The new service uses 50-seat Canadair Regional Jets operated by US Airways Express carrier Mesa Airlines. Flights will depart Montreal at 6:50 a.m., and will arrive in Charlotte at 9:24 a.m. Return flights will depart Charlotte at 8:15 p.m., and will arrive in Montreal at 10:45 p.m.

“This new nonstop service will bring our customers in Montreal convenient connecting access to all 15 Caribbean destinations served from US Airways’ Charlotte hub,” said Andrew P. Nocella, US Airways vice president of planning and scheduling. “Charlotte also marks our fourth U.S. gateway to Quebec.”

US Airways Express currently operates six-daily nonstop flights between Montreal and New York’s LaGuardia airport; four daily Montreal-Pittsburgh nonstop roundtrip flights; and three daily nonstop frequencies between Montreal and Philadelphia.

Passengers flying on US Airways Express’ Canadair Regional Jets travel comfortably in a quiet cabin equipped with large overhead storage bins, standup headroom, and reclining leather seats. Every seat is adjacent to either an aisle or a window. This aircraft also provides restroom facilities. The Canadair Regional Jet has a cruising speed of over 500 miles per hour with a range of more than 1,000 miles, and can cruise at altitudes above 35,000 feet, providing US Airways Express long range regional jet capability.
