An exclusive selection of the best movies that won nominations or Oscar awards this year makes up the programming on board LanChile flights. Distinguished films such as “Chicago” (Best movie), “The Hours” (Best actress); “The Orchid Thief” (Best supporting actor); “Frida”(Best makeup and Best original song); “About Schmidt” (two nominations); and “Catch Me If You Can” (two nominations) among others, make up the moves programmed onboard LanChile’s international flights for the next four months.
Along with these films, others are being shown on-board that have not yet premiered in Chile, among them, “Maid in Manhattan” with Jennifer López; “A Guy Thing” and “National Security”, in comedy, and “Evelyn”, a drama in which Pierce Brosnan plays an Irish worker willing to use any means to avoid having his children taken into State care. This selection once again underlines the fact the LanChile is always ahead of the crowd when it comes to offering its passengers special premieres, as occurred last year with the comedy “My Great Greek Wedding,” shown on LanChile flights when it was just beginning to take the first place in the United States
Since 1998, among the service innovations LanChile offers its passengers, the critic and journalist, Ascanio Cavallo, picks the best films to show on board. The movie schedule - which is provided to passengers in detail in the magazine LanPremiere - consists of 10 films, which change every two months in the different classes on LanChile international flights. Long-distance flights offer individual screens in First, Business and Economy classes, with a modern on- request audio and video system, which allows the viewer to fast forward, rewind or stop films at any point. LanChile is the only airline offering this service in its economy class and was also the first company in the world to include the advanced eOffload audience rating system, which makes it possible to collect data on the movies most viewed by passengers.
