Following the change in the political situation in Iraq, Lufthansa intends to include the capital of Baghdad in its route network once again at the earliest possible date.

Baghdad with its oil refineries is the country`s leading industrial centre and especially for business travellers will become an increasingly important destination. With a flight from Germany, Lufthansa could offer its customers an attractive service for this market. Precondition for the start of flights is the clarification of still open questions of transport law as well as the approval of the administration in Iraq. A final decision will be made in the next few weeks.

Baghdad was already served by Lufthansa from 1956 to 1990 - with several interruptions.
