continues to gain momentum with more partners now onboard including Roots
Canada, strong response to special fares within Canada and new deeply
discounted Air Canada fares to Toronto from the US and Europe.
A “Canada Loves Toronto” dedicated website launched last week by Air
Canada now features over 120 partners with attractive discount offers to
entice travelers to Toronto. The site, at www.canadalovestoronto.ca lists
partners` special offers with handy links to their websites and is updated
regularly as new partners join the campaign.
Air Canada announced today that Canadian retail giant Roots Canada has
joined the effort to support Toronto with special customer discounts during
the Victoria Day weekend. Customers who present an Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz
or Tango boarding pass dated May 15-20 at any of Roots` 21 stores in the
greater Toronto area will receive a discount of 20 per cent off regularly
priced Roots merchandise and a collectible Roots “I Love T.O.” t-shirt with a
minimum $20.00 purchase. The Roots` website at www.roots.com features in its
“Press Centre” Canadian actor Jason Priestly sporting the limited edition
t- shirt available for men, women and children.
Special “Canada Loves Toronto” $49, $74 and $99 fares on Air Canada, Air
Canada Jazz and Tango have received strong customer response. Special fares
for travel to Toronto between May 15-20 from most long and medium haul
destinations (i.e. Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax) have now
sold out, however fares to Toronto from short haul destinations (i.e. Ottawa,
Montreal, Quebec City) are still available. Air Canada`s fuel surcharge and
insurance charge are waived on these special roundtrip fares for a savings of
$56.00 on a return trip ticket, with an additional $5.00 savings per round
trip ticket. Travel may be undertaken at anytime between May 15-20 with no
advance purchase and only a one night stay requirement.
In a further effort to encourage support for Toronto beyond Canada`s
borders, Air Canada is offering deeply discounted fares to Toronto, from all
80 cities it serves in the continental U.S. for travel over the U.S. Memorial
Day holiday weekend, May 22-27, in addition to travel to Toronto over Canada`s
Victoria Day long weekend, May 15-20. The airline also announced today special
deep discounted fares to Toronto from many major cities it serves throughout
Europe, including London, Dublin, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Madrid and Rome. The
special international fares for return travel to Toronto are available for
purchase May 7 until May 23, 2003, for travel May 12 until June 19, 2003, with
no advance purchase required.
