FORT WORTH, Texas—Are you or someone in your family planning a wedding? With the traditional wedding season just around the corner, many brides-to-be and families are making big plans for weddings and family parties. Those in the know are taking advantage of the American Airlines Group & Meeting Travel Wedding Program, which offers discounts of up to 10 percent off American’s lowest published air fares when 10 or more passengers travel to a wedding celebration. The program is flexible, designed for families who are planning weddings, after-wedding parties or reunions out of town. Itineraries and origin cities may vary as long as the destination city is the same.
American Airlines is the first airline to offer a wedding fare, and customers who use it can accumulate AAdvantage® miles when they travel. Commitment ceremonies are included as well.

“Many customers are not aware that we offer such a great deal. When they find out about it, they often expand their invitation list so additional guests can take advantage of the discounts,” said Mark Nickells, managing director of American’s Group & Meeting Travel.
American offers a 5 percent discount off the lowest published fare, and an additional 5 percent when travel is booked at least 30 days in advance. And, American will include complimentary wedding inserts to inform out-of-town guests of the discounts. The special discounts can be used on American Airlines, American Eagle and oneworld member airlines to more than 550 destinations worldwide. Special car-rental rates are also available when using the Wedding Program discount.
