Spirit Airlines Reports March

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (April 9, 2003) - Spirit Airlines, the largest privately-held airline and low-fare leader, reports March 2003 traffic. In March, Spirit carried 372,311 passengers with a system-wide load factor of 75.2 percent. This represents an increase of nearly nine percent from March 2002 in passengers carried.
Additional traffic results for March 2003 report Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) of 405,714, an increase of 18.9 percent for the month as compared to the same time period in 2002. Available Seat Miles (ASMs) of 539,621 increased 31.4 percent over last March.
“For the first quarter of 2003, Spirit surpassed benchmarks across the board with passengers carried, Revenue Passenger Miles and Available Seat Miles, representing an overall increase from 2002,” said Tom Anderson, chief marketing officer and senior vice president. “Leisure and business bookings remain steady as we continue to focus on low fares, excellent customer service and safety to maintain an optimistic outlook for the months ahead.”
