Delta`s SkyWish Partners Cancer Society

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has announced the American Cancer Society, the nation’s leading voluntary health organization, as the SkyWish Charity of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2003. Through SkyWish, Delta`s charitable mileage donation program, SkyMiles members now can donate miles to directly support the American Cancer Society’s mission-related activities in communities throughout the country.
“Delta is pleased to support the American Cancer Society and its noble cause to diminish the effects of cancer and, ultimately, eliminate it,” said Rob Borden, Delta’s SkyMiles program director. “We hope the miles donated make a significant difference in the many lives affected by this devastating disease.”

“We are excited to have Delta’s support in our efforts to fight cancer on all fronts,” said John R. Seffrin, Ph.D, national chief executive officer of the American Cancer Society. “Through the generosity of SkyMiles members, we can continue groundbreaking research, community education programs, advocacy for better health policies, and patient and family services as we make progress in our fight against cancer.”

Beginning today, SkyMiles members may donate miles to the American Cancer Society via SkyWish. There is a 5,000-mile minimum donation, and Delta will boost each donation by adding 1,000 miles for every 5,000 miles contributed.

Donations can be made via e-mail at [email protected], by calling 800-325-3999 or via FAX at 404-773-1945. SkyMiles members should include their SkyMiles account number, the amount of miles to be donated and note that the American Cancer Society is the charity that their miles will benefit. SkyWish donations are not tax deductible for Delta Air Lines or SkyMiles members.

The American Cancer Society is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by saving lives, diminishing suffering and preventing cancer through research, education, advocacy and service. Founded in 1913 and with national headquarters in Atlanta, the Society has 17 regional Divisions and local offices in 3,400 communities, involving millions of volunteers across the United States.
