Finnair Operates Through Strike

The Union of Finnish Air Transport Workers IAU has threatened Finnair with possible industrial action starting Wednesday 26 March at 1pm Finnish time.
The strike is a support strike, which involves 2100 IAU workers in Finnair Oyj. The strike is directed against Finnair, but the dipute is between ABB and IAU. The disagreement is over 38 ground equipment maintenance staff who moved to ABB in August 2002.
According to present information, all Finnair long haul, leisure and most European flights as well as domestic flights to and from Oulu, Rovaniemi and Kittilä will be operated normally. More information will be provided as soon as possible.
Finnair`s partner Golden Air Êhas stated that it will fly to the following domestic destinations even during the possible strike: Pori, Seinäjoki, Varkaus, Savonlinna, Mikkeli, LappeenrantaÊand Stuttgart in Germany.Ê
Should the strike begin, Golden Air willÊnot be able toÊoperate to: Tampere, Jyväskylä, Vaasa and Kokkola.Ê
