BA Suspends Kuwait and Tel Aviv

British Airways will suspend its daily service between London Heathrow and Kuwait until further notice with effect from tomorrow (Wednesday, 19th March).
The decision was taken in light of Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel advice, advising against travel to Kuwait and advising British nationals to leave Kuwait urgently.

Today`s London Heathrow to Kuwait flight, BA157, will depart at midday and will arrive at Kuwait at 2250 local time. The return flight BA1156 will depart Kuwait at 0025 local time on Wednesday and arrives at London Heathrow at 0640 local time.

Also in light of FCO advice from Thursday 20th March the airline will suspend its twice daily service from London Heathrow to Tel Aviv until further notice.
Today`s twice daily London Heathrow to Tel Aviv service (18th March) will operate as normal.


Tomorrow (Wednesday 19th March) the airline will operate only one of the two daily services from London Heathrow to Tel Aviv. Flight, BA165, will depart Heathrow at 0900 local time and arrive at Tel Aviv at 1550 local time. Flight BA164, will depart Tel Aviv at 1650 local time and arrive at Heathrow at 2030 local time. Flight BA163 (Wednesday March 18) from London Heathrow to Tel Aviv and the return flight BA162 have been cancelled.

Mike Street, Director of Customer Service and Operations said: “We have taken this action in light of the change in Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel advice. The safety and security of our operation is always our absolute priority and we would not consider operating any flight unless we were satisfied totally that it was safe to do so”.

British Airways` flights to Bahrain, Doha, Jeddah, Dubai and Riyadh will continue to operate via Larnaca in Cyprus. Flights to Muscat will remain suspended temporarily.
Flights will re-commence from London via Larnaca to Abu Dhabi with effect from tomorrow,(Wednesday 19th March).

All passengers booked to travel to Kuwait or Tel Aviv between 19th March and 30th March will be offered the opportunity to rebook to travel at a later date, or offered travel with alternative airlines or offered a refund.
