French Carrier Placed In Receivership

14th Mar 2003

French airline Air Jet has been put into receivership after filing for bankruptcy earlier this week.

The Paris-based carrier, which flew charter services and code-share flights on behalf of Air France, has suspended domestic services from Paris to La Rochelle and St Etienne.

Despite an injection of around EUR1.2 million from new investors, the airline has continued to struggle with liabilities of around EUR13 million (USD$13.9 million).

Air Jet started operations in 1980 and was originally part of Jet Services.
