International Acknowledgement For Lufthansa

Airline gets top grades in the Five Star Diamond Award and in the Fortune Rankings

Two international awards confirm the good reputation which Lufthansa enjoys as a company worldwide. This year, on the fringe of the ITB (International Tourism Exchange) in Berlin, the airline is once again being honored for its excellent quality and service with the Five Star Diamond Award of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. This prize has been awarded to companies in the tourism branch such as airlines, hotels, restaurants, star cooks, wine-growing estates and cruise corporations since 1989.

In the latest edition of FORTUNE Magazine, Lufthansa scored top values in the rankings of the world`s most admired companies in comparison with other airlines. The airline company is the leader among its European competitors and takes third place in the worldwide ranking. The rankings are based on a survey of 10,000 company managers and executives in 345 companies from all over the world. Each respondent was required to classify the other companies in his/her sector of industry on the basis of specific attributes and the average value of these assessments served for the preparation of the sector lists.

Thierry Antinori, Executive Vice President Sales of Lufthansa German Airlines, was delighted with the double international recognition: “In economically difficult times, when airline companies worldwide are devoting a great deal of attention towards the strict control of their costs, we are particularly pleased to have been able to develop our quality and thus our competitive edge.”
