Finnair Launches Osaka Service

From 1 June Finnair will launch flights to Osaka in Japan.Ê Flights will be operated by MD-11 aircraft three times per week.Ê Flights will leave Helsinki on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with return flights operating on Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays.Ê This service compliments Finnair`s twice-weekly service to the capital, Tokyo.
Finnair has consciously increased its Asian traffic in recent years.Ê The service between Helsinki and Beijing has grown from two to six flights a week in a little over two years.Ê Last year Finnair opened a new route to Hong Kong and upgraded its Bangkok route to a daily service.Ê Finnair also flies to Singapore.
In 2002 Finnair increased its capacity on Asian routes by more than a third.Ê Around 100 000 more passengers were carried on oriental routes than in 2001.Ê Overall Finnair carried 400 000 passengers on its Asian routes.
