SWISS Change in Technical Management
Jorgen Orstam, Executive Vice President Technical Department, has informed the SWISS Board of Directors that he is resigning his post in order to pursue other activities.
Paying tribute to Jorgen Orstam for his contribution to the Technical Department for the earlier Crossair and for SWISS, the SWISS Board has accepted his resignation. Orstam joined the previous Crossair on 1.1.2001. After an interim phase, he became responsible for the full range of technical activities on 1.4.2001.
The Board of Directors has selected the 50-year old Helmut Himmelreich as Orstam’s successor as Executive Vice President Technical Department, effective 1.4.2003. Himmelreich is currently Chief Operating Officer and member of the Board of LTU, the German airline. This engineer is an experienced specialist. He started his career as a flight mechanic with LTU in 1978. In 1987, he was appointed Technical Director, also acting as an instructor (aviation specialist) at the Technical Mechanical Engineering College in Monchengladbach.
