Continental Consolidates Houston Reservations

Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) today announced that it will consolidate its two Houston reservations facilities at its new North Houston Center located at 600 Grand Plaza Drive.
No job loss will occur as a result of the consolidation as all employees who currently work at the reservations center located at 9999 Richmond Avenue will have the opportunity to work at the new, state-of-the-art facility. The North Houston Center can accommodate the 2,500 employees currently working at both centers today.
The North Houston Center is a two-story, 120,000-square-foot facility with easy freeway access, ample parking and modern conveniences including a full- service cafeteria.
“This consolidation will help the company by increasing efficiency and reducing operating costs, but will not diminish our ability to provide industry-leading reservations services to our customers,” said Larry Goodwin, vice president-reservations.
Consolidation will begin in the fall and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
