East Coast Storms Cause More Trouble

18th Feb 2003

US Airways has canceled flights on many of its routes in the East as a severe winter storm continues along the Eastern seaboard. US Airways is working closely with airports impacted by this weather to get runways and taxiways cleared and flights operating again.

All US Airways service at New York`s LaGuardia airport, Washington`s Ronald Reagan National and Dulles International airports, Baltimore Washington International (BWI) and Philadelphia International airports has been canceled for the remainder of the day. Service at Boston Logan Airport will operate on a reduced schedule after 5 p.m., Eastern time. Travelers also could see flights at other airports canceled or delayed due to the impact of this weather on the US Airways route network.

US Airways has canceled over 900 flights in the last two days and the number of canceled flights is expected to grow today and tomorrow.

Customers traveling in areas affected by these winter conditions who cannot get to the airport or whose flights have been canceled or delayed will be permitted to rebook. For more detailed information on US Airways` weather reaccommodation policy, customers should contact US Airways reservations at 1-800-428-4322.

US Airways urges customers to check the status of flights online at usairways.com or by calling the automated customer service line at 1-800-943-5436.
