Delta Offers Real-Time Flight Information

ATLANTA, Feb. 7, 2003 - Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has added new Gate Information Display Screens (GIDS) at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida to help customers stay informed. The information screens, the most advanced in the industry, provide customers with real-time, flight-specific information at every gate in Fort Lauderdale.

Delta’s GIDS provide customers with information they need and want, including flight status seating configuration, standby and upgrade status, and weather conditions in their destination city - even before they ask. Customers now have access to GIDS technology in 17 stations in Delta’s domestic system, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Fla.; Los Angeles, New York (Kennedy and LaGuardia), Orlando, Fla.; Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Tampa, Fla.; and Washington, D.C. (Reagan). They also are located in Delta Shuttle operations in Boston, New York and Washington, D.C.

“This technology was created specifically with our customers in mind. It is designed to keep customers informed by answering frequently-asked questions about their flight while reducing time spent in lines,” said Rich Cordell, senior vice-president, Delta Airport Customer Service. “GIDS are just one of the many enhancements we’re making to improve the travel experience, and I’m pleased that Fort Lauderdale customers will now be able to take advantage of this helpful resource.”

Delta also offers 20 self-service check-in kiosks in Fort Lauderdale, enabling e-ticketed customers to quickly check-in for their flight while avoiding lines.

Delta Air Lines, the world’s second largest airline in terms of passengers carried and the leading U.S. carrier across the Atlantic, offers 5,619 flights each day to 438 destinations in 78 countries on Delta, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, Delta Connection and Delta’s worldwide partners. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance that provides customers with extensive worldwide destinations, flights and services. For more information, please go to delta.com.
