Frontier Airlines Names Senior Director

Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) has named Gregory D. Aretakis as senior director, planning and scheduling, effective immediately. Aretakis, 50, brings more than 25 years of aviation planning and scheduling experience to Frontier. He most recently served as vice president, market planning for Vanguard Airlines where he developed a new business model for the airline and implemented route-structure changes and a fleet transition plan. In his new position, Aretakis will report to Vice President of Marketing and Planning Sean Menke, and will oversee Frontierå‘s planning, scheduling, pricing and revenue management departments.

“Greg’s extensive experience in the disciplines of airline planning, scheduling and revenue management combined with his first-hand knowledge of fleet transitions make him ideally suited for this critical strategic role at Frontier,” said Menke.

Prior to joining Vanguard Airlines, Aretakis was the co-founder and vice president, marketing for USAirways affiliate Shuttle America Corporation. Aretakis also served as vice president for Savoy Capital Corporation; vice president of schedule planning for Continental Airlines; vice president, planning for Texas Air affiliate New York Air, and held various positions within the scheduling and planning departments at Texas Air Corporation. Aretakis began his aviation career as a schedule analyst with American Airlines.

Aretakis holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in geography from the University of Washington. He currently resides in Kansas City, Mo. and plans to relocate to Denver.

Denver-based Frontier Airlines employs approximately 3,000 aviation professionals and is the second largest jet service carrier at Denver International Airport. Frontier and its regional jet partner Frontier JetExpress offer service to 39 cities. Frontier’s fleet consists of 37 aircraft, which feature a single-class configuration. In 1999, 2000 and 2001, Frontier`s maintenance and engineering department received the Federal Aviation Administration`s highest award, the Diamond Certificate of Excellence, in recognition of 100 percent of its maintenance and engineering employees completing advanced aircraft maintenance training programs.
